An Unexpected Surprise

Upon our arrival at Lookout Mountain we learned that Ruby Falls was located at the mountain - or should I say "in the mountain?" We had no idea what to expect. The tour started with a 260-foot descent by elevator into the mountain. At the end of that descent, we entered into a cave. The path through the cave was a round trip walk of one to one and one-half miles. Although there were many incredible views along the way, the pinnacle of the tour was Ruby Falls - a 145-foot waterfall deep in the cave. These are some photos:
